From what I read, they dated for a month or two, then decided they were better off as friends, and she began dating some other guy (I'm blanking which dude) from the show, and they lasted longer.

I think you mean Matt Czuchry who I fondly remember as Logan from Gilmore Girl's, I think he dated Kate for two years.

Read the "Star Magazine" Article. First time I've read that interesting to hear Ian talk about another woman that's not Nina. He was very open in that interview about their relationship.

The main thing that I picked up was that Ian is aggressive when he likes someone. He admitted that he chased Sarah hard. I think i can see that parallel with Nina...since he openly flirted with her all the time. Interesting....Ian does seem like a playboy, but in the true sense of the word...a guy who just loves women a lot...falls in love easily. I am not an Ian expert though....

I would like to say that I've noticed maybe a more mature approach with Nina...maybe it's just his age now.

Ian is a flirt and ladies man but i don't see him as a playboy (which i define as someone who cheats etc)

also dating alot is kinda normal esp. in your twenties (which at the time Ian was)

Ian's so obviously a woman magnet who enjoys the attention. Its not hard for him to get several girlfriends at any time and I'd imagine, in the past, well, why not? If its not a serious relationship, I can imagine him under your definition of a playboy. Its actually a very attractive trait. Women fall for that kinda guy, cause he's more unobtainable, a little like gay men. Would I love him less? Not one bit!

so, I cannot even contemplate Kate not wanting him at some point!

I just checked, Kate Bosworth dated Orlando Bloom in between Ian and Alex. wow. And that happened at the end of 2002, so yes, straight after Ian. whoa, how can we forget Orlando?

I definitely think Ian's a big flirt, which is apart of his charm & has no problem expressing that to a woman he's interested in. I don't know if playboy is the right term (although when you're young & hot I don't see a problem w/dating around ) but I definitely think he's had no problem w/women.

I've never read the article you're talking about (would love to if you can post a link) but IA w/you on Ian's approach. I think he's very aggressive when he wants someone & isn't shy about it (which to me is a really hot quality). I always kinda thought he was probably the aggressor w/Nina (although I think she had the crush first).
