Could be that a witch taught her how to avoid it meaning there is a chance he can learn to. he was friends with Bree and Gloria (?) also liked him..

If it is the "age" thing though, guess it is harder for him to form resistance to it.

yeah they probably teached her yeah. just like with the vervain. if you drink it every day a bit, you can resist that too.
