I wasn't much of a shipper but did prefer Spike/Buffy to Angel/Buffy so it is not that bad. As far as I know she also loves Han Solo/Leia (who I adore), so it seems she has a preference for the "bad boy" character ending with the heroine, which is not so bad...

I didn't ship either of them w/Buffy tbh I always thought it was kind of weird that a slayer would date a vampire felt kind of counter intuitive to what she was supposed to be there for. I preferred Angel w/Darla & Spike w/Drucilla

I actually liked Angel/Darla, Spike/Drucilla couples too!

although I was fine with Spike/Buffy, there were things about it I didn't like. One problem was that it felt a tad one sided (I never finished watching the series, but from what I read, it continued to be one-sided).

From what I heard it did remain that way although she slept w/him. & speaking of Spike:

They did sleep together for a while but I think he was kind of a guilty pleasure, something she was ashamed for (from what I remember). And they may even have had a "hate sex" period. (been so long and wasn't watching that regularly) And then she did grow to appreciate him more etc., but I don't think they were ever officially a proper couple... I remember more how much he loved her and the lengths he'd go for her sake then stuff from her, tbh.

Oh, I'd love for Spike and Damon in the same episode too. They'd have great banter

That sounds about right. I hated that they tried to make his love for her greater than his love for Drusilla

A Damon/Spike scene would've been so awesome! Spike w/out the chip though not neutered Spike

It was basically their way of giving him a version of a "soul" I hated it b/c I loved bad Spike

I was OK with Spike having a soul (which he got on his own later on), as I don't think it necessarily takes someone's edge off that much (and if I remember right Spike never became the emo vamp Angel was, its like the worse vampire is as a demon, the more emo they became once they had a soul -same with TVD and ripper Stefan thing )), but him literally not being able to attack anyone (even to defend himself) was too annoying. No one but no one has a right to put something in a person's brain to "zap" them anytime they act in a way they don't approve. ugh.

I was never a big fan of Angel. Although I wouldn't have minded a damon scene w/Angelus

I wasn't that big a fan of angel but I did watch the series for a while and was OK with it - it is weird...

I think I liked the humor...

And when Spike was mocking Angel as he watched him from the rooftop, that monologue he gives is golden. " No, not the hair. Never the hair."

Do you mean when he got his own series? I watched that too actually I stopped though after they moved into the law firm so missed it when Spike became a cast member b/c if I'm not mistaken he was there for their last season.

I think the last season was Spike the ghost- and I didn't see most of that. The "Spike rant" bit was when he came over for a guest spot earlier on, I think.

I didn't watch all of Angel, either. I think I was done around the time Angel got that annoying son of his, Connor - him (Connor) and Cordelia sleeping being the last straw. I think after that at most I peeked in from time to time...

I think I'm one of the few people who actually liked Connor I think it was b/c he was the son of my beloved Darla & I really never liked the idea of Angel/Cordelia so I was glad he ruined it But yeah the show did jump the shark when they had him sleep w/Cordelia that was so icky.

Oh, I didn't necessarily care for Cordelia/Angel and I did like Darla too. I'd prefer it if she remained around...
