Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone on ABC's hit "Lost," has joined the cast of the CW's drama pilot "Vampire Diaries."
Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.

Thesp's credits also include "Tell Me You Love Me."

Also joining the cast are Zach Roerig ("Friday Night ..Lights.."), who will play the jock Matt, and Kayla Ewell ("Entourage"), who will play Matt's sister.

Previously announced cast includes Nina Dobrev and Steven R. McQueen.

"Vampire Diaries," based on a series of books from Alloy Entertainment, centers on a woman who falls for two vampire brothers - one good and one evil.

Warner Bros. TV is behind the project, along with Alloy and Outerbanks Ent.

I'm pretty sure VD has a strong ground already, it faced tough competition last Thursday but still manages to up its viewership from last week

My favorite part of episode 3

When Stefan was narrating how Damon has lost his humanity totally, and then it shows Damon stroking Elena's face, that scene was awesome

I died. I feel so bad for Damon, he really is lonely and it makes my heart Break for my BB

I'd just play safe or I might get some spanking, hehehe

Omg, Stefan made me laugh when he did Dr. Phil on Damon, it was like, huh? You're not helping him, you're provoking him! Duh? Damon's not the emotional one, he's not like you

And for the last scene, that was just epic, I almost cried, okay, I did cry about one or two tears, hehehe

it made me wanna touch Damon's face and just comfort him

Idk I get some Whiney vamps you know, I can understand where their coming from but Stefan really has no reason because HE CHOOSE TO BE A VAMPIRE. I don't recall him ever saying "No, Katherine Stop! I want to be Human" of course did that happen? hahaha No. he was like "PLEASE KATHERINE, LET ME BE WITH YOU FOREVER."
