I just read this great little article on Vincent that this lady did while visiting the Law & Order set. I thought I'd share it with you all.

Go to: http://words.sir-ranulf.net/
Then click Articles, and it's the top one entitled Esquire -- June 2003-Jeanne Marie Laskas

Aw, that was a cute article. "Women are wild for you. Are you aware of this?"

Pretty picture: D'Onofrio

Anyone watch the TV Guide's best TV moments or whatever tonight? Vincent won for favorite actor in a drama. They went on set to give him the award and it was interesting to see how Vincent's mannorisms mirrored Bobby's.

I thought it was funny that TV Guide gave him this award when in this weeks issue they had a best and worst section for TV this year and they named Goren as the worst know-it-all.

Aw, I can't believe I missed it. That's cool that he won, though.

It was funny because the guy who was giving him the award (I think it was his director) was sitting in Vincent's desk chair on set and Vincent comes walking up and did that bending thing he does and got right in his face and was like, "Are you gonna get out of my chair?" and I'm sitting there thinking 'that's so Bobby!' and then the guy told him he won and Vincent smiled and gave a little speech complete with elaborate hand gestures about how he's never gotten an award on TV and thanked everyone who voted. It was really cute! Okay, I'll stop now.

That's so cute. I wonder if he really does that bending thing in real life. That'd be really disconserting to be talking to him and have him do that.

I think he probably does. I mean he's so tall and if he wants to talk to someone sitting down he'd almost have to do it.

I read somewhere that if Robert Goren was to become an actor he would be Vincent D'Onofrio, and vice versa... does that make sense? Anyway... so I kinda get the impression that Vincent is a very intense, very observant person. And in some of the interviews and appearances I've seen Vincent in he kinda acts that way so maybe it's true. Who knows? All I know is that he's amazing and in my opinion the best actor EVER!

Yeah, I get the feeling that Vincent is a very intense person most of the time too. It's what makes his acting so great though. If he were more laid back and less serious I don't think he would have been able to play some of the characters that he's played as well as he did.

I wish this thread got more replies maybe we just need a good topic to discuss...

I'm curious, what other works of Vincent's have you seen, and what did you think of them?

I'll start. I've seen 41 of Vincent's currently available 50 works listed at the IMDB. My favorites are...

The Whole Wide World
Good Luck
The Velocity of Gary
Happy Accidents
The Cell
Law & Order: CI (Duh!)

I feel like an incredible slacker...

My favorite Vincent movies are The Whole Wide World and Case of Evil. I wasn't a big fan of The Cell. It was good, but too much J.Lo for my tastes.

Isn't The Whole Wide World fabulous! That's the movie that made me say, 'hey Vincent D'Onofrio is the best actor to ever grace the screen.' And that kiss is just breathtaking... did you know it's cited as one of the best screen kisses in the history of movies? I rented the DVD once and watched it with the commentary with the director and Vincent and Vincent said he couldn't watch that sceen cause it was too embarassing to watch and he doesn't like doing kissing or love sceens. The whole time I'm sitting there thinking, 'for someone who doesn't like them very much, he sure is damn good at them!'

I'm in love with this movie. It's one of my all time favorites. It's kind of depressing though. The first time I saw it, throughout the whole movie I wanted them to get together so badly, and then he kills himself. I was like, WTF? But it's an amazing movie.

It is a depressing movie. I still can't watch it without crying. I have a copy of it I recorded off of TV but I rarely watch it because it's so sad. Eventually I plan on buying the DVD so I can have the commentary, but I figured out that the DVD is missing 3 scenes that I have on my taped copy so I guess I'll have to keep it too. I also really want to get a copy of the book the movie was based on and see how different the two are but from what I've seen it's not going to be cheap.

Vincent and the director of The Whole Wide World did another movie together called 'The Velocity of Gary' which I also really enjoyed, but was equally as depressing as The Whole Wide World. Vincent plays a bi-sexual, former porn star who has AIDS. It also stars Salma Heyek, Thomas Jane, Ethan Hawke and Olivia d'Abo (Nicole Wallace/Elizabeth Hitchens from Criminal Intent if you didn't know). It also had another great kissing scene, but that's a whole nother topic that I won't get into for the sake of those who aren't into that sort of thing.

I've been watching more Vincent D'Onofrio movies lately, and it's amazing how different he is in each movie, but how well he can portray each individual character. He dies in quite a few of his movies, though.

I stayed home from school today and watched The Championship Season. At first, I didn't like it that much because Vincent played such an assh*le, but further into the movie, I started really liking it once they brought out the whole affair thing and started adding more to his character.
