The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Since no one started this..

Directed by: Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (did some uncredited work on Mean Girls, I believe)

synopsis: A bachelor (Matthew McConaughey) is haunted by the ghosts of his past girlfriends at his younger brother's wedding.

IMDB has it set for release in Feb 2009. Romantic comedy. I will update this with some additional info later on.

I love Matt (as he was in one of my fav movies). It will be interesting to see the chemistry between the two of them. I don't know if I'm going to head to the theatre to see this though.

What would really be cool is if they made this from a southern viewpoint. I would love to hear both Matt and Jen do their thing.

Ohh, me too.

I love Matt as well, and I love to listen to him talk. And also, he's so cute, and have a fab body.

Interesting to see the chemistry between them, yeah.

Thanks for taking care of the thread, Dr. Love!

Of course, the irony is that Ben was to star in it originally. Then it was cancelled in 2003 just one month before shooting. The reason has never been too clear. The thing is Mathew McConaughey is rather box-office poison and he has sort of replaced Ben for bad press.

This sounds like an interesting one. And yet another comedy. YAY! Interesting that Ben was to originally star in it too.

It's probably not blockbuster material, heh, but Jen is cute and Matt is cute. So I suppose it'll be... cute?

This sounds like a great little comedy for Jen! I really hope it's light-hearted, as I feel Jen always does great with these roles.

Maybe it can turn into another "The Break Up" hit?

Jennifer Garner is Looking to Join 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' - Cinematical

Quote:
To recap -- the film will focus on a womanizer who gets haunted by 'ghosts' of his past, present, and future girlfriends while at the wedding of his younger brother. These apparitions lead him to realize that he's in love with his childhood sweetheart.

I imagine that means Garner is the sweetheart, although she could be the new sister-in-law, or a ghostly shepherd that herds the beings in and out of the guy's head.....

Furthermore, Garner has been involving herself in some solid work lately, like The Kingdom and the hugely-buzzed Juno, so it would be a waste to tarnish those stints with a stinker of a cinema cherry. We'll have to wait a while to find out, however -- production won't get in gear until January.
True. But it's just work.

I'm not a fan of romantic comedies and seeing that this has been tossed about, that seems like a script that says don't touch me. Even if the script was new, I think I would still pass on seeing it.

I think these movies need an edge to be different. Something that was apparent in C&R (except for the ending) and even with the Gervais movie.

Hmmm that's a shame none of your questions about this movie were answered. Would have been good to hear what she thinks of the role.

As long as it isn't cheesy and predictable, which it already sounds like it is, I'm willing to watch it. Jen is it in anyway... that's enough of a drawcard

Me too. I haven't managed to find any further information on any of the cast or plot details... will have to wait until the filming starts I guess.
