Following the events of Daredevil, Elektra Natchios (Garner), sai enthusiast and assassin for hire, is revived by the Order of the Hand, a group of assassins who helped train her. Assigned by the Hand's current leader, Kirigi, to kill a man, Mark Miller (Visnjic), and his 13-year-old daughter, Abby, Elektra soon befriends them and decides to stand up to her ninja peers. Elektra is especially motivated to do so when she discovers that Miller's grandfather was an ally of her former mentor, Stick (Stamp). Together, they must take on Kirigi's lethal quartet (which includes Tengu and Typhoid).

Daredevil's Elektra electrifies in new movie

IF you thought Alias kicked butt, you'll want to see Elektra, Marvel Comics spin-off of Daredevil.

Said its star Jennifer Garner, seen here in the movie's just-released teaser poster, to Sci Fi Wire: 'Elektra is lethal.

'In Daredevil, she was somebody who was on the verge of being lethal who was surprised to find herself vulnerable to someone. But once her father's killed, there is no light for her in the world anymore.'

Elektra, shot in Vancouver, Canada, is set years after the events in Daredevil, which saw her Dad murdered and her misunderstanding with lover boy, Matt Murdock.

She's now the most dangerous assassin in the world, in the employ of a criminal organisation, The Hand.

But when she's assigned to finish off a young girl who lives with her father, Elektra gets all conscience-stricken.

The baddies this time around include ninja killers, Kirigi (Die Another Day's Will Yun Lee) and the supernatural Typhoid Mary (Natassia Malthe).

While Daredevil was strictly now-boyfriend Ben Affleck's (failed) vehicle, Garner is feeling the pressure of headlining a big action film all on her own.

'I've really missed hiding behind a big, red devil,' she said.

Is she talking about their semi-clandestine romance too?

Thanks for the link to the "under consideration" posters. I wonder if they're real. They look really cool, at least. I read that aricle earlier today. Enjoyable bit. No new quotes, but a funny tone to it.

Btw, the trailer is up at the apple.com/trailer site. Which means it's probably up at the official site as well. Way better quality than at the Yahoo Movies site. Yay. Now I can see the trailer with a bigger, more detailed picture. And also, there is one part where Quick Time is the best player and that's the slow motion bit. Cause with that one you can move the clip along frame by frame. Complete control, hee.

First Elektra Trailer Online

Reader shock as 'Elektr-ic' puns run out

You've waited patiently for months it's finally paid off and this hallowed trailer has at last arrived. But it's a Friday after all and if you've already seen the Episode III trailer and have five minutes to spare then the new preview for Elektra is well worth a look too.

The lovely Jennifer Garner takes centre stage here as the woman in red, picking up where she left off before she died (don't ask, we're sure it's explained) in Daredevil. Now there's a lot going on in the trailer so you'll have to pay attention. You've got Typhoid Mary (poorly girl, wan complexion), mystical Hand assassin, Tattoo (he's, like, the one with the tattoos) Terence Stamp's blind martial arts master (wearing a somewhat undignified cap) and, of course, Goran Visnjic and his moppet, whom Elektra is tasked to eliminate but ends up rather fond of. There are things missing too, though, like any mention of a connection to Daredevil, which was an interesting decision.

So is it any good? The answer is yes. The film's certainly more of a CG-fest than we'd anticipated, but the action's impressive, the production value's high and you can't really go wrong with ninja's flying out of the trees and leaves swirling around combatants in Zhang Yimou stylee. The trailer's quite an assault on the senses so we recommend a couple of viewings to really get a feel for it but, all in all, we think you'll be impressed. And all you Alias fans will assuredly lap this up.

Thanks for that article. Actually I didn't know there was gonna be so much CGI in it as well. But it seems like there will be. More or less the whole tattoo character, for instance. But there seems to be more wire-action. Either way, judging from the trailer, the work seems extremely professional. "...but the action's impressive..." Indeed. Actually, like Ellie also says, the movie looks really well done. It looks professional and seems to hold a high standard, both technically and physically.

So yeah, I saw the trailer frame by frame yesterday. Whee, fun. Oh please, like you all won't do the same or haven't already. Cause it's cut so fast and so much happens in it, it's impossible to follow all of it in real tempo. I mean, I barely blink at all when I'm watching it (yeah, I'm still pretty much at the gaping stage), but I still don't catch all the little flashes.

The gaping stage. I'm using Quick time for the Yahoo! trailer so yeah, I love the play-by-play. I belive that it has a good script and looking forward on how they revived her.

You haven't seen the clips from the official site? I'm not sure it's all they do, but that man who sort of tells her story touches her and moves his hands in a particluar way and she wakes up. Also, a little back and forth here, but some say she was never dead. I wonder if JG herself yacked something about that. Cause Elektra is a Martial Arts expert, so she has the ability to slow down her heart til it practically stops, and then (with maybe a little help), she can increase the rhythm again. Cause you know when your heart rate is slow, less blood is pumping through your body, and that's good when you've just been stabbed. You don't lose that much blood then. It'll be fun to see how they do it anyway. It'll be fun to see how they do everything.

Seriously, it's quite scary how excited I am for this movie. I've never been this excited for a movie. Ever. Not even 13GO30.

I'm actually more excited about this movie than I am for Season 4 of Alias and that's unthinkable.
