I didn't realise we had filled up the other thread!

You know what I find really strange? The fact that here in Australia, the movie is called Suddenly 30. I like the original one much better!

I like the other name better but I knew that you and Anna both knew it as Suddenly 30. I barely noticed either, time flies when you're thinkin' on razzles.

It does. And it sounds less Big-esque which is a good thing because I think because the concepts are so similar is why it didn't do better.

Yeah, that's true! It's a pity it didn't do better, because it is such a great movie.

I really liked "13 going on 30", it should have done much better. The dance sequence on Michael Jackson is a classic, and "Love is a battlefield" is a great pop song.

Yeah, the 80's had some great songs. The beginning of the movie with Jesse's Girl always reminds me of a friend of mine. She is a big Rick Springfield fan (and quite a bit older than me) and she bought concert tickets to see him. I went along because the tickets were free but he looks amazing for his age and still puts on a really good show. No wonder Jenna loved him.

There are some great songs in the movie. I think they did a great job in the selection to set the vibe.

They did, it felt infused with the spirit of the 80's. Did they ever release a soundtrack for this?

I think they did, actually! But from what I remember, a couple of the key songs might have been left off it.

Found it! Here is the track list:

1. Head Over Heels - The Go-Go's
2. Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield
3. Burning Down The House - The Talking Heads
4. Mad About You - Belinda Carlisle
5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston
6. What I Like About You - Lillix
7. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
8. Crazy For You - Madonna
9. Vienna - Billy Joel
10. Why Can't I? - Liz Phair
11. Tainted Love - Soft Cell
12. Love Is A Battlefield - Pat Benatar
13. Will I Ever Make It Home - Ingram Hill

Okay, I really want this CD now. But where on earth is Thriller?

That's what I was going to ask... no Thriller?!

I loved how they used Why Can't I?. It's quite the catchy tune, and a nice song. The scene is one of my favourites.

I love that song, it's a great love song. It's a nice balance of songs but the fact that Thriller isn't included when it was like one of the most important scenes in the movie. Odd. Obviously they had access to the Jackson songbook because the song was in the film. Hmmm...
