Watching THG currently not sure if its from reading the books first or my imagination but finding atleast the 1st movie I'll get back to you on CF

As promised on my vacation, finally watched The Hunger Games

Watched the first one Thursday evening and don't know what it was but wasn't feeling it. Maybe cause it is the start or maybe my imagination from reading felt that the movie didn't fulfill JLaw was brilliant but the actor of Peeta, wasn't feeling it

Now the opposite was for Catching Fire which I watched Friday evening, really enjoyed it and can't wait for the new movie in November JLaw again was amazing, and felt a bit better about Peeta. Finnick was spot on

It was about as faithful a adaptation of the book they could have made without doing voiceovers in it, since alot of things we know in the book that don't have as big an impact in the first movie is because we know the inner workings of katniss' mind (for example we know that she is play acting her relationship with peeta, whereas peeta or the audience at the captiol and district don't know this, its implied in the movie but I actually had people confused about this.)

I 100% agree that it was a strong adaption to the book was extremely impressed on how well it was faithful to the books

I didn't read the books when I first saw THG so I don't have anything to compare but I found myself quite surprised to be enjoying it. However I heard that it was more gruesome in the book than the movies which I can understand if they don't want the movies to be gruesome of course.

The promotions for Mockingjay are getting to be in full force now. I really need to rewatch the THG and watch CF already.
