Erik was more so annoyed at first, and also he was stressed. He was not horrified.
Their kiss was intense.

More horrified because of how much older Erik is

He was older, but not by long in the tooth older.

He looked more annoyed than horrified.
If you want to see horrified, watch Charles reaction of Raven in mutant form.

Exactly Charles was the one that was horrified, its why she went to Erik. He appreciated her in her true form

I actually do prefer reading before the movie comes out but I always tend to be critical about it so nowadays if I'm late to reading the books and the movie is already out, I just prefer doing the opposite. I actually still haven't seen the second movie but I do have a copy I can watch anytime.

Honestly? With this series,it's a toss up. I mean yes,it helps to have basic knowledge of the characters so you won't have any misconceptions, but X-Men has so many different verses, divisions and whatnot that your head will hurt if you read and then watch. For instance-Xavier's is the original, but his teachers or sometimes even villains like Mystique either start their own school or teach there.

Emma Frost and Banshee started the Massachusetts Academy, there's The Jean Grey School for Higher Learning and then Hellfire Academy. It's so confusing and Wolverine has a brother in that last one. I quit reading for a bit after the early 2000's because I couldn't keep it all straight.

I think Linz was actually referring to THG or something?

I have a basic understanding of the background with X-men but I also don't read too much into it as I treat them both differently. Some things are adapted, others are not.

If they wanted to bring in Emma and Jean's academy...they'll need tons of movies at this rate!

Ah-This is the x-men board,so I assumed she meant the comics and graphic novels. Emma's is gone since Generation X finished in 2001 and they made a tv movie, so it's enough for me.

I do love that Mystique taught How to be Evil 101.

They were going a bit OT so I was confused too!

Also I love how in DOFP Mystique was no longer unsure of herself, she pretty much was evil/badass and cunning in this one and that's what I wanted to see.

This is also the JLaw thread so we can talk about her other projects here that is not X-Men (like what we did with the Beast/Hoult & Kitty/Ellen thread too). Sorry about the confusion but yes, I was talking about THG.

I think FC really did a great number on Mystique and how conflicted she was about being a mutant. Yes she was proud of it but the varying reactions from Charles & Erik also made her decision easy in the end.

Oh yeah I know Linz, I think it just confused as we were talking about Mystique

Yeah I think the fact that she worked with both made it easy for her to decide who she identified with most.

I think her mutant power is pretty cool too. I don't know much about Raven's childhood but I imagine it's a very sad one.
