Anyway, yay Magneto. I've been a fan of this character since the mid '80s. John Romita Jr had a way of drawing him that maximized his dignity and presence. Magneto was on his redemption kick back then, hanging out with the X-Men, training the New Mutants, etc.

I think a lot of people do. Of course, for much of his history he was just a villain, until Chris Claremont started changing that in the early 1980s. A big turning point was Uncanny X-Men 150, from 1981. Here: Uncanny X-Men (1963) #150 - Comic Book DB

Yeah, I agree. I think that Magneto's transition for me began with his co-leadership role in the X-Men with Charles Xavier in the Secret Wars back in the early 1980's.
I noticed how surprised a lot of the other heroes in the Avengers and the Fantastic Four were when the Beyonder put Magneto with their group instead of with Doctor Doom and the other villains.  __________________
