I agree, sum1. The only reason I think Riverdale is the exception is because it's really well written and it's basically Twin Peaks meets Archie Comics. It's pretty good neo-noir.

Hey, Twin Peaks' second season may have sucked, but that first season is still legendary. And Twin Peaks inspired a lot of other shows, like Bates Motel, Pretty Little Liars, and Riverdale.

Cheap writing, bad handling of characters, the wreck it became in later seasons, the writers' worship of Lana, etc. Smellvile went wrong to an incredible degree.

I can understand how Twin Peaks could influence those shows, apart from PLL. I don't see the similarities, what are they?

Hi, sum1! Hi, Dave! Hi, Rita!

I've never seen Smallville so I can't comment.

You should at least check out season 1 of Twin Peaks and the first half of season 2, Dave. That's before the show went downhill. After they solved Laura Palmer's murder it just wasn't worth it. That was ABC meddling with the show. And Lara Flynn Boyle sabotaged the Dale Cooper/Audrey Horne relationship because she was dating Kyle MacLachlan(Cooper) at the time and she felt the Cooepr/Audrey relationship was getting all the attention and it was undermining her character, Donna Hayward, who wasn't getting a good enough storyline.

And my day was okay, thanks. I need longer days.

Well, PLL was based on young adult novels, but you could see some Twin Peaks influences on the show, especially when the story went to Ravenwood. There was always a murder mystery, film noir references, surprise twists, weird surreal imagery, and Rosewood was made to look like a modern gothic-noir town like Twin Peaks and Riverdale. Being from outside of Philadelphia myself I admire the showrunners attention to detail.

More hours in the day to get stuff done. I need the Earth to rotate just a bit slower to give me 32 hours a day instead of 24.

yes...a lot more people want more hours in the day... but like posting on FF - it's time management and prioritizing what's important to you/ what needs done first/ 2nd, etc...

then there are those "Homers" who say "I wish I had more time to spend with wife/ kids" -- and they spend like 1 hour or so at a bar after work
