Well, doesn't Scotland deal with snow? And some parts of England? I figured Ireland doesn't often get snow because of the Jetstream effect that blows warm air up from the Caribbean.

And I heard that Europe got hit with a bad cold snap.

It's not pretentious.

Spring starts with the day when there's equal amount of daylight and darkness, and that's March 20th. That's when the days start getting longer and the nights shorter.
