Rant: I have my corned beef for NEXT Saturday...I just need cabbage... and I didn't want to pay $2.40 for it... I could live without cabbage next week...but it's not the same

Next Saturday... I suppose I can have corned beef and Eggs for lunch and corned beef sandwiches for dinner... and have left overs the next day

I don't drink either

You do, Rita?

Hi, Dave! I replied your rant on the Heroes board and it's the same one you posted here. And yeah, it made me hungry too.

Really, Rita? Nice.

Hi, Dave! I get up earlier at 4am and have coffee on my way to work. It always catches up on you eventually.

Me too. I hope you can get a good night's sleep.

Nothing to rant about today. Oh, well... except this stuff about Drumpf possibly getting a Nobel Peace Prize. The world has gone insane.

I know, right? And remember some of the other Peace Prize recipients?

Henry Kissinger, Woodrow Wilson, Yasser Arafat, etc.

Henry Kissinger I don't have a problem with. Without him the world would have gone into nuclear war way back.

True, but a lot of people also held him accountable for the bombing campaign in Cambodia and North Vietnam, which is why his winning the Nobel Peace Prize for the Paris Peace Accords that ended the Vietnam War was controversial at the time.

That's rather taking things out of context. Communism had been proven to be a force capable of turning nations into genocidal tyrannies and it was spreading fast, with country after country switching over and then engaging in unspeakable behavior. We can joke about it now, but it was serious back then. And people like Kissinger were desperate to stop that spread. They were right in that, even if their methods were questionable. But extreme situations can make extreme methods seem justifiable, so I can understand why they did what they did, even if I disagree with it. On the overall, Kissinger is still the guy who's responsible for the fact that the world is still here, so I think he deserves that prize more than anyone.

Not disagreeing with you on that at all, sum1. And Kennedy and Johnson also felt the same way because of the "domino theory" about communism, remember? Just mentioning that Kissinger getting the Nobel was controversial at the time due to his actions during the Vietnam war, that's all.
