What they need to do is raise Luke Cage's strength from lifting 40 tons to lifting 100, so they can have a genuine black heavyweight. Luke originally could lift only about 3 tons. Since then it's gone up to about 40. As far as I know they've got no significant black character who can lift 100. The Thing, Colossus and Titania can all lift 100 tons now, so why not Luke?

 On Marvel's website it lists Luke Cage's strength level at 25 tons, not 40, just five above Spider-Man at 20. Odd, since like you said, he used to be far less strong than Spider-Man, maxing out at 3 tons. Hela or Enchantress? __________________

Marvel's website is out of date then. Luke used to be 25 tons about a decade back, but since then he's moved up to 50.

They often increase the power of characters. And Luke is doing bigger stuff these days than he used to. I think he ran a team of Avengers for a while.
