It's over 200 pages so far..my own characters, but I don't dare to publish it for exactly that reason, that I fear there are plot holes and continuity errors I may have not noticed

Hey, don't let that stop you. A lot of writers have had similar errors that they cleaned up later on after getting a publishing grant.

If you have a chance to get an actual book published then go for it. You can always proofread later.
