Any word on who might take over as Wolverine after Hugh Jackman leaves the role? I've heard that his next film will be his last as Wolverine. And I hope whoever it is actually wears the mask for once.

I'd actually like it if Hugh wore the Wolverine mask in his final appearance.

I honestly wouldn't want anybody to take over as Wolverine

or not anytime soon - give it like 5 to 10 years before recasting the role just cause of how long/amazingly that Hugh has played him

I think Hugh himself recommended Tom Hardy for the role.

And we're gonna have to think about it soon, because Hugh said that his next movie is his last.

But that's a really difficult storyline to do without the rest of the Marvel Universe around. This is why it sucks having the X-Men separated from the MCU.

Of course, even if they were in the MCU, Hollywood would just screw it up anyway, like always.

Well, like you said, Hugh had mentioned Tom Hardy, but in an interview later on, Hugh actually said he would prefer an unknown, new actor take over the role so that someone will be given a chance at success in film the way he was given a chance with Wolverine when nobody knew who he was in Hollywood.

His last film has not been given a title yet, but they finished filming it last month. It will likely combine elements of Death of Logan and Old Man Logan based on some of the behind-the-scenes stuff I saw, but it is supposed to be a somewhat unique story in a way, also - and a profound look at Logan's relationship with Professor X.

The mask was teased in a deleted scene for The Wolverine, but it is really the director's call whether to let Hugh wear it. Hugh would've been down with it, I'm almost certain.

Wow, if they're doing Old Man Logan then I guess they might not be replacing Hugh at all.

They might decide to use X-23, Laura Kinney, the new female Wolverine.

Well, that would make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought Laura in.

I think many fans got tired of that Team Edward/Team Jacob thing with Cyclops, Jean, and Wolverine, and the comics finally put an end to it with the young, time displaced Scott and Jean coming to the present day and killing off Wolverine with the Old Man Logan thing. Of course, this just opened the door to a Jean/Scott/Laura thing, which just shows that Marvel never learns.
