True. I think the best part though is that I couldn't understand everything he said because his Aussie accent was so thick and the slang he used was so out there and wacky.

Poor Hugh Jackman. He has had such tough luck this past year - first with 4 skin cancer operations (he said recently it was 4 total) and now today his vocal cords hemorrhaged.

For anyone who doesn't know, Hugh is in Turkey right now and had been looking forward to performing there this week, doing his song and dance show. I heard him talk about it a few days ago in a press conference, and this performance was something that was supposed to be very special to him for a number of reasons. In fact, he recently found out that he is part Turkish and was connecting with his roots. And today was supposed to be a special show where he celebrates reconciliation between Turkey and Australia (today is a special day for the Turkish people).

Hugh arrived in Turkey with his wife, Deb, a few days ago, and I could tell during his press conference that he looked and sounded off. His voice seemed hoarse and fairly weak. I thought maybe he had a cold and sore throat. He was able to perform the first day of his show yesterday, but then today his vocal cords started bleeding, which is considered a vocal emergency, and he can't use his voice (talking or singing) until it heals. Some people with vocal hemorrhage end up needing vocal cord surgery. I'm wishing Hugh a speedy recovery!

I think this is the saddest tweet I have ever read from Hugh: He said he's "devastated." He's usually so happy. Poor bb.

Hugh is so precious. He's temporarily can't use his voice so he has been writing what he wants to say. Even when he can't physically speak, he's using his voice for the benefit of others. What a wonderful man.

He stood up for the Aboriginal people of Australia, protesting against a new law that would close down several remote Aboriginal communities and force many Aboriginal people off of their land. Hugh has always had a touching relationship with the Aboriginal people. He has supported causes helping them for years and invites some of his Aboriginal friends to sing with him on Broadway. He had tears in his eyes.
