Not good signs. Whatever, I'm just glad they didn't pull this with Deadpool 2. I never cared about New Mutants and I am interested in Dark Phoenix but don't care that much either.

What they pulled with Deadpool 2 was worse. See the new thread for my comments.

Thanks, LightYears. I hate all this film shuffling. They already pushed back New Mutants and now Dark Phoenix? Why are the X-Men films having this happen to them? Damn, MCU.

No, the MCU won't have anything to do with these current X-Men films, and the Fox-Disney deal won't be finalized until 2019, so the X-Men and Fantastic Four won't be merged with the MCU until some time in the 2020's.

The Disney deal can still affect them, and judging by the release delays it already has.

I'm glad they're united in Marvel comics, but I'm not so keen on the movie merger. Fox has put out X-Men films that have on average been less lightweight and deeper, more mature than Disney's MCU films. Critics often describe the MCU movies as children's films and I can see what they mean. Those films are primarily aimed at 12 year old boys. So far the X-Men films have been a bit better than that and I'll be sorry to see them go the way of the Disney films. Whether in Star Wars or Marvel, Disney generally puts out pap.

sum1 is not happy with the direction of Disney. I'm reserving judgment until I see something tangible, but I'm also being realistic because this is Hollywood.

At least Disney didn't do what FOX did to Cable and the X-Force.

True but they didn't make something like FOX's Fail Four.
