Yes, that's true.

But I think Hugh also proved that you don't have to look for A-list talent to find the right actors. I felt Halle was a bit too A-list for a role that really wasn't A-list size.

Just because you don't have to have A-listers dosn't mean they can't work in the role too.

I know, but Storm's presence in the movie really doesn't fit having an A-lister. And because Halle is an A-lister, her role in the following X-Men films got expanded at the expense of other characters. Dark Phoenix is supposed to be Scott and Jean's story, but Halle had her role expanded in X-3 because of her A-list status far more than the story called for.

Yeah well Storm's role should have been expanded anyay. Storm is a major character in the X-Men comics and was their sole leader for years. I was actually pissed off they didn't expand her role more.

Yes, that's true. But Storm was leader of the X-Men mostly when Cyclops was away, and also when he was with X-Factor. The X-Men movies still wanted to keep the focus on Wolverine, and Storm wasn't gonna get expanded that much because of that. And I don't mind Storm getting a bigger role, but not at Scott and Jean's expense. Dark Phoenix was supposed to be their story, and it seemed like Storm got a bigger role than Jean, who was basically just a villain in that movie, and you know what happened to Scott.

Actually Storm was the leader of the X-Men for a long time when Scott was around and they had two leaders. And X3 wasn't the Dark Phoenix film. It just dabbled in Dark Phoenix.

Yes, I remember. It was between the Dark Phoenix Saga and the Secret Wars.

But then Scott left and had a son with Madelyne, and then he was with X-Factor. But I just meant that I wanted Scott and Jean to get their due in their own story, that's all. X-3 did a horrible job with Dark Phoenix.

Storm waa leader alongside Scott throughout most of the '90s. Before then she was leader for most of the '80s, at first when Scott was not around (which was a lot) and then by herself.

I wantd Storm to get her due.
