I remember my friend let out a big "OMG" when Storm 'died' in DOFP. And I seriously didn't want Last Stand (Part 2) happening all over again so I was so glad for that ending. WHEW!

It's cool and creepy in a way but you also know that Storm is using her powers to control the weather when her eyes go white.

It is cool/creepy but its a nice effect that they did to add to her power/appearance when she controls the weather
