"Quicksilver" is an old term for mercury, so I guess he goes in a thermometer.

And Mercury was the Roman version of Hermes, the messenger of the Greek gods of Olympus, known for superhuman speed. That was also the inspiration for The Flash.

I figured that, I was just speaking rhetorically.

The Flash is inferior. Quicksilver is much better. At least he has a personality.

I think The Flash is faster, but Evan's Quicksilver is much better than the comic Quicksilver. I never cared for the comic book Quicksilver because he was kind of an ass.

Better an ass than no personality. The Flash is faster because DC heroes are overpowered.

Yes, I know, sum1. I just wish comic book Quicksilver were more like Evan's Quicksilver. It's rare that I ever concede that a movie version was better than the comics version.

Evan's Quicksilver is certainly good but I think a lot of that is down to how the actor does it. I don't think it could necessarily be duplicated in the comics. I'm ok with the comic book version of Quicksilver. Peter David made him funny in X-Factor in the early '90s.

Oh, Quicksilver was in X-Factor in the early 90's? I remember Havok being in it, but I didn't know who else. And wasn't Havok involved with Lorna Dane/Polaris? And they have her involved with this Eclipse dude in The Gifted? Oh well...
I never saw any version of Quicksilver in the comics that wasn't annoying. He's second only to Namor in that respect. __________________

Yes Havok was involved with Polaris as far back as the '60s and as late as (I think) this century. It was like Jean and Scott.
X-Factor in the early '90s included Havok, Polaris, Quicksilver, Strong Guy (Guido Carosella), Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair) and Madrox the Multiple Man. There was a great run by Peter David on the title, but when he wasn't on the title it was rather mediocre. __________________

Yep, I remember. Havok got involved with Madelyne Pryor/The Goblin Queen during that whole Inferno storyline, when Havok, Dazzler, and Longshot were all brainwashed by her. That kinda put a hitch in his relationship with Polaris, one of many mistakes that Marvel made with them. I think Marvel did more damage to Alex and Lorna than they did to Scott and Jean.
So Quicksilver was in X-Factor? He never really did mesh with the Avengers as well as Wanda did. The Avengers were her home and family more than the X-Men ever were. But I'm not surprised that X-Factor got canceled later on in the 90's. The only reason that comic existed was to reunite the original five. Once they were integrated back into the X-Men, X-Factor lost all relevance. It's a shame, because I liked that comic back in the 80's when the original five were in it. __________________

The X-Factor comic went for longer with the second team than it did with the first. The second team lasted quite a while, about 7 years.

Yeah, but were there sales as good as the original five? They're the only reason I read that comic. I stopped reading after Jim Lee came out with X-Men #1 and the five went back to the X-Men.
