Well... maybe. And I liked the 80's outfit too. It was very punk-new wave. __________________

Need pics of Shipp as Storm. And maybe some pics from the comics.

Yeah, we do. But I suck at OP arts and I wish Sarah could do some for us.
Oh, and thanks for adding the link to the previous thread in the OP. __________________

You're welcome.
I like Storm's punk look. I just wish she wasn't missing her powers during most of the time she had it. __________________

Yeah, that's right. She was leader of the X-Men after Scott left and she had no powers. That had to suck.

She got her powers back around the time of the Fall of the Mutants and then she changed her hair and costume.
She was pretty competent without her powers. That's one of the things I like about her -she's more than just superpowers. Contrast with, for example, Jean Grey or Polaris, who've just got powers and no special skills useful in superheroing. __________________

Wow, you really don't like Jean or Lorna.
Actually, that's another reason why I liked Ororo with T'Challa, because she was quite capable even without her mutant ability. And she kinda resembled a Luke Cage character back then, like Misty Knight. Maybe that's what the writers were going for, a kind of 80's version of that. __________________

I don't hate Jean and Lorna, but that's the reality of them. They don't have special skills. They don't have much personality either. They come from an earlier generation of Marvel female characters, many of whom weren't given much personality, thanks to the way society viewed women then. Scarlet Witch and Invisible Woman are two others of that type. Once Chris Claremont started really developing Storm in the '80s she was a classic example of the fightback against that tradition of not giving female characters personality or skills. Jean, Wanda, Polaris and Sue were all upgraded in power, but never much in personality.
Storm wasn't with T'Challa in the '80s. Not until the 21st century. Their relationship was created by Reginald Hudlin and the first comic he wrote was the Black Panther, about 2005 on. He got them togeher in that comic. They broke up later in the Avengers vs X-Men thing. I don't think Storm was ever much like Misty Knight or Luke Cage. She's totally different from those characters. And the Black Panther is different from those characters too. Storm being a skilled fighter and stealth operative also makes her a good match for Wolverine. __________________

Oh, I see. This is about the Silver Age Marvel heroines. So I guess you feel similarly about The Wasp?
Man, you're really set on Storm and Wolverine, huh? Yes, I do know that Storm got her powers back long before she got with Black Panther, and that they broke up because of that Avengers vs X-Men thing. __________________

No, the Wasp was one of the ones given a personality from early on, like Mary Jane Watson.
Storm/Wolverine is great for me because they're two of my top favorite characters. I don't like her with Black Panther because I don't like T'Challa. And I found her relationship with Forge to be boring because I found Forge boring. __________________

Really? Thanks for the pro-Janet vote. If only Marvel felt the same way.
I liked Black Panther mostly for the costume. But Wolverine also had a cool costume. But I don't think the writers ever really considered pairing Logan and Ororo, sadly. __________________

They did pair Wolverine and Storm, as I've told you before, in the period before his death. I just wish they did it back in the '80s. We've discussed this before.

Yes, I remember, sum1. I meant that they never intended for that to be long term or anything. Lots of X-Men have briefly paired up and it didn't last.

It lasted most of two years in the comics and Wolverine and Storm had a platonic bond going way back in the comics.
