Thanks for that, Rita. Should I ask if Sansa survived?

Sansa had the single best ending any character could ask for. Pretty much what she wanted.

Are we sure that GoT is in the British isles and not Scandinavia? I'm still not entirely certain where all of The Lord of the Rings takes place.

LOTR geography was based on the whole of Europe I believe. Or you mean politically?

I meant geographically. Oh, okay. I'm guessing northern Europe, then. Britain, Scandinavia, Germany, France, etc.

GRRM's books are based on the English Wars of the Roses, while the Blood Wedding in it was based on something that happened in Scotland.

Thanks, sum1. I did hear that his stories drew inspiration from the York vs. Lancaster feud during the Wars of the Roses(probably the inspiration for the name Lannister), but I wasn't sure how much of GoT was geographically based on Britain or how much could've been inspired by other parts of northern Europe. I know that Middle Earth in Tolkien's stories was based on most of northern Europe and not just England.
