Jean never had a romantic relationship with Logan, Matt. Logan made several passes at her, but she was in love with Scott and always had to rebuff Logan. The only timeline where Logan and Jean had a romantic relationship was in alternate reality timelines like Age of Apocalypse.

And Logan wasn't in Dark Phoenix because Hugh Jackman left the role of Wolverine after Logan, and also because the director disapproved of Logan's infatuation with Jean, given her age, and wanted to focus on Jean and Scott.

OK. I thought he was interested in her, but it's been a while since I've seen any X-Men film. I have noticed that there's planty of Logan/Jean Fan Fiction out there, but guess nothing came of them.

Well, the movies greatly influenced that fanfiction, but in the comics nothing ever came of it. The comics made practically ever male member of the X-Men have a thing for Jean at some point or another. Warren and Hank also had a thing for her as well. But she was always with Scott. The movies focused everything on Wolverine, which is why Scott and Jean's relationship was misrepresented in them. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix attempted to rectify this by focusing more on Scott and Jean.

Wolverine had a thing for Jean in the comics since way back in the '70s, but it never got very far until the 21st century comics decided to mess around and put Scott with Emma Frost.

Yeah, I know. That happened after the first X-Men film came out in 2000, which is why I felt that storyline was reactionary. Comics should always be insouciant to what Hollywood does.

I don't think reactionary is the right word. That means people with politics like Trump.

Well, I think that reactionary refers to any action that's a reaction to something else. I've heard people refer to art and entertainment as reactionary, like late 60s counterculture films.

The blonde suits her, seeing as it's her original colour.

Yeah, it's a shame redheads are so difficult to come by in Hollywood.
