Yea I've seen Superman Returns a few times wasn't bad - didn't mind his character but totally was third wheel

Would have rather him related to X-3 but wasn't it also Halle that caused part of it wanting a bigger role and money

Superman Returns was actually pretty good, as long as you ignore the awful '70s/'80s movies it's supposed to be a sequel to. And yes, Marsden's role in it was rather unrewarding.

It was intended to be, what they call a homage sequel, but it was much better than those lame old movies. Not that I always liked it. I first saw it part way through and gave up on it. But I came back to it years later and found it had some value. I just try to ignore the connection the old movies, which I think you're entitled to do because of the new cast, no matter what the director intended.

Blech. Amatuerish films. The second one had this bull that he couldn't get involved with a mortal unless he got rid of his powers. Why is it that so many fiction franchises have sexual hangups? The Jedi can't have relationships, Doctor Who has the Doctor being asexual even though he clearly isn't, etc. Thank god the recent DC films haven't had that sort of hangup. And in the comics he got involved with Wonder Woman, who I think is a much better match than Lois Lane. The '70s/'80s movie Lois Lane was annoying anyway. "Quirky" would be a kind description. And the way she talked bugged the hell out of me.

The third has some interesting elements (Superman going evil and splitting into 2) and the talents of Richard Pryor, but it's pretty low grade. The second one has the best villains, but that nonsense about Superman having to give up his superpowers to get laid really screws it up. The first one is pretty limited, as they all are. The last one is bargain basement crap. Widely considered one of the worst films of all time.

Yeah, but at least there wasn't an ''X-Men 4'' that didn't Scott & Jean in it. Instead they had the Wolverine & First Class films, which were much different.

Prequel ones with McFassy were amazing and erased the first 3 movies reset button anyone

Sort of, but they were still operating in the presumed original timeline, it just got retconned with Days of Future Past. Apocalypse is the first X-Men movie that can be said to take place in an entirely different continuity. Dark Phoenix will be totally different from X-3.

I personally count the whole new trilogy as canon now First Class - Days of Future Past plus Apocalypse

Well, Days of Future Past kind of overlaps both continuities, don't you think? And Logan might as well be alternate universe, since it seems to pick up where Days of Future Past left off in the future, but Apocalypse deviates from that practically from the start. Confusing as hell. I can't wait to see where Dark Phoenix goes.
