There's a draft in the US still. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_Service_System
https://www.sss.gov/ Registering is mandatory. The idea behind it is they want to be able to bring back mandatory conscription any time they need to, so all males of the appropriate age have to register for the draft. __________________

I don't have Netflix so I have no idea about Luke Cage, Sarah. But I'm still not liking what I'm seeing with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Looks like Tom Holland got the job because he knows parkour.
sum1, I know full well what Selective Service is, and it is not a draft. I like you and I like talking to you, but please stop lecturing me about what goes on in my own country like I haven't lived here my entire life, okay? I don't lecture you about pub lock-ins or the IRA, or Belfast riots. Please allow that I know my country better than you do. Look, the Selective Service is just something you sign when you get your driver's license at 18 years of age. You sign your name and check a few boxes, that's it. It takes less than a minute. But all it does is say you're eligible for military service, and that's when recruiters start coming for you. But it is not a mandatory conscription. The only time Selective Service was ever an issue was shortly after it was instituted because many guys who were between 18-25 in the late 70's and early 80's weren't aware they had to sign up and could face penalties. But by the time I turned 18 it was just something they had you fill out when you get your driver's license, that's all. No one even thinks about it. Hypothetically it can be used if they reinstated the draft, but that wouldn't happen because it would take an act of Congress, and they're not gonna do that for two reasons: 1. The draft became extremely unpopular during the Vietnam War of the 1960's, and no one in Congress would vote to bring it back because their constituents would be strongly against it. 2. A draft is unnecessary as the USA has the highest-ranked military in the world with the second largest army after China and the largest naval fleet and air force in the world. If they didn't bring back the draft after the September 11th attacks in 2001, then nothing short of an alien invasion is gonna convince them otherwise. __________________

It's okay, Sarah. I'm just letting sum1 know that while I have no idea what Europeans have heard about US Selective Service, no one... NO ONE here in the USA ever refers to it as a "draft." Not ordinary people, not the media, not politicians, not even the military. So let's move on, shall we?
Anyone gonna see Spider-Man: Homecoming? sum1 and I are both boycotting. Oh, and did you hear that the MCU might bring Captain Britain to the screen? I know that sum1 might have issues with that, being Irish. __________________

Captain Marvel is in production, and if they ever get around to filming it should be out soon. But this is Captain Britain. I've heard some people mention Christian Bale as a candidate.

Maybe, but I've had many problems with the way both Marvel and WB have been doing things, not just with the lack of female characters. Need I remind you of how Janet Van Dyne/The Wasp got fed over? And do not even mention the name Hope if you value your life.

This is why I'm prepared to wait until hell freezes over until Hank and Janet are given their rightful place in the Avengers in the MCU.
