Thanks, sum1! I was a huge fan of John Byrne. He was a British guy who got it as far as Superman goes. He revolutionized the comics. And he did that great She-Hulk comic. I guess being green, she fit his Irishness.

John Byrne's great. I have a few complaints about hm, like about how he drew women earlier on and what he did to Vision and the Scarlet witch, but he's one of my favoirite comic book creators. His art is crisp, clear, dynamic and defined, firm and detailed as well. His writing is creative, sometimes a bit too creative coughVision/ScarletWitchcough. I love his X-Men run, his Alpha Flight run, etc.
And by the way, here's an early picture of Wolverine unmasked by Byrne. It shows how the portrayal of Wolverine back in the '70s and early '80s was influenced by Jack Nicholson, who was then the classic '70s antihero. See the close resemblence to Nicholson: http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/u...erine_face.jpg Here's another one, a classic image from the cover of the Days of Future Past storyline. Note the same resemblence. Wolverine is Jack Nicholson. https://www.scifinow.co.uk/wp-conten...uture-Past.jpg And Jack Nicholson in the iconic 1970 movie Five Easy Pieces: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065724/...r/rm3068854784 Compare the grin in the first Byrne pic to this photo from the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065724/...r/rm3679033344 He even dressed like Wolverine a lot in that film -plaid shirts, turtlenecks, leather jacket, jeans, cowboy boots. Early portrayals of Wolverine also gave him a personality echoing characters like those Jack Nicholson played back then. Here's Nicholson from the Shining (1980), showing what became some of Wolverine's trademark wild spirits. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081505/...r/rm3899909376 And a very feral-looking Nicholson from the same film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081505/...r/rm2925126912 __________________
