A Marvel DK book put out in 2019 lists Mar-Vell as "Captain Mar-Vell" and Carol as "Captain Marvel".
And there's not a single mutant on the cover. __________________

Well that's stupid. His name was Mar-Vell, but he was known as Captain Marvel, and Carol was Ms. Marvel before she took over as Captain Marvel.

Ah, I see. All of which used to be Marvel properties. Well, I guess now Star Wars is again. I got irritated seeing all of those Marvel titles I loved in the 1970s and 80s belonging to other comic book publishers in the 1990s.

Yeah, I remember that. Palpatine made clone bodies for himself, and I guess that was an attempt to reference the Clone Wars that happened prior to Star Wars.
