The Korvac storyline wasn't Starlin.

Yes, I know, but it was part of Marvel's "cosmic mythology" back in the 1970s that I was really influenced by as a kid. The Kree/Skrull war, The Silver Surfer, The Man Called Nova, Captain Marvel, Adam Warlock, Guardians of the Galaxy, the Korvac storyline, the Elders of the Universe, the Celestials, The Eternals, the High Evolutionary Galactus, and the Thanos storyline were all really cool to me back then. I loved the battle between Galactus and the Evolutionary over Counter-Earth. That was some epic storytelling back then. A lot of it got sidelined in the 80s for some reason. The Secret Wars storyline was the most cosmic thing that Marvel did in the 80s, along with that X-Men stuff with the Shi'ar.

I do know that Jim Starlin didn't write all of that stuff, but I do believe he was a big part of what defined the Marvel cosmic mythology of the 1970s.

Starlin was ok in the '70s, but in the '90s he mostly put out crap.

Well, of course. By the 90s he was mostly repeating stuff he'd already done in the 70s. That seems to be the case for writers, whether they're comic book writers, novelists, screenwriters, or even musician-singer-songwriters. Fans always say, "I liked his/her early stuff," but after a while their well seems to run dry and they run out of ideas.

Artists too. 21st century JRJR and John Byrne work isn't half as good as their earlier work. JRJR was at his best in the '90s and Byrne was at his best in the '80s.

Yes, this is also true. Either that, or they just maintain a consistency. I liked Jim Lee's artwork in the late 80s and 90s with X-Men, and I also liked his work with DC in the 2000s. But it was all pretty much identical. Kinda like Kirby's stuff. Kirby always drew the same way.

Oh, I loved John Byrne's stuff in the 80s, especially Fantastic Four. His She-Hulk was mouthwatering.

Sorry, sum1. A moment of weakness.

It's too early to start planning release dates like that

The only Ant-Man movie I'm interested in is one that puts Hank and Janet back in the Avengers. I don't care how. Feige can go screw himself. Hopefully this will be Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily's final MCU movie.

I cannot believe that Black Widow gets her own movie and Janet Van Dyne gets squat.

Oh for god's sake. This isn't the comic book character of Black Widow getting a movie while Wasp gets nothing. This is Scarlett Johansson's fan-favorite performance finally getting recognized with an overdue movie.

I'm aware of that, sum1. But this movie, and Scarlet Johansson making Black Widow a fan favorite, elevates her character to a level she does not inhabit in the comics. She's not that big of an Avenger in the comics(mostly a reserve member), but the films have overstated her importance because of who is playing her and the filmmakers' decision to emphasize her due to how the MCU was haphazardly put together early on. If Scarlett Johansson was playing Janet Van Dyne you'd see The Wasp take precedent as the MCU's preeminent female character.

The Black Widow led the Avengers for years, so she's not that insignificant. The movies have to work with what they have. If they have Scarlett Johansson doing a great job as Black Widow it's reasonable that they should focus on her. As it is they've treated her pretty shoddily and this movie is long overdue.
