Yeah, that stuff dragonfire posted fits with stuff he told me and Tar on the Star Wars board years back. I still can't understand why Marvel would sabotage their most successful comic series (the X-books were huge back in the '90s) just because another company owned the film rights. It seems like self-destructiveness out of spite.
Thanks, dragonfire. __________________

Marvel sabotaged X-Men and cancelled Fantastic Four for the same reason they have Hank Pym trapped in the Soul Gem being eaten by a ing soul monster and Janet sitting on the sidelines while Nadia Van Who Gives A Fk is pretending to be The Wasp. They've become slaves to the dam MCU.

Actually, Marvel started sabotaging the X-Men in the comics a number of years before Disney bought the company. And Wolverine's origin. House of M and all that.

Well, Marvel started messing up a lot of titles during the early 21st century, sum1. They got really pretentious after a while. I miss 20th century Marvel, when they still knew who they were.

They reacted the wrong way to the X-Men films from the start.

I wish comics were still insouciant to what Hollywood does.

In the 80's and 90's they were, for the most part. It wasn't until the 21st century that they started allowing themselves to become too influenced by Hollywood.

In the '80s and '90s there was little in the way of serious Marvel movie projects.

I know, and that's what made it great. No interference with the comics because of Hollywood bull

The X-Men movie in 2000 was really the beginning of the end for Marvel comics.

Yeah, and it didn't have to be. I don't know why comics sell themselves to Hollywood like that.
