Yeah, well... I stopped reading comics during my days in middle school and didn't get back into comics until 1984 when Peter Parker came back from the Secret Wars with his new black and white symbiote costume. I read sporadically prior to that. It had a lot to do with my parents' separation in 1981.

You should have read the X-Men after you came back to comics in 1984.
