Thanks for all of that, dragonfire!

Replacing Loki with an X-Men villain? I don't know if I like that.

I love the fact that Scott and Jean are back to acting like a couple and none of that polyamory crap with Logan.

And I'm glad that in this hypersensitive age, Marvel decided to stop being so uptight and give Jean back her sexy Marvel Girl skirt. She looks goooooooooood in that.

Cyclops & Jean Grey Bring The X-Men Back To Marvel Comics
Marvel's X of Swords event has come to a dramatic close - with Cyclops and Jean Grey reuniting the X-Men as their own team of heroes.

Cyclops and Jean Grey have brought the X-Men back to the Marvel Universe. It is a time of change for the mutant race. Professor X and Magneto have successfully united the mutants of Earth on the living island of Krakoa. They have learned how to synergize mutant powers and Cerebro technology in order to resurrect the dead, and are restoring the millions slain in previous acts of attempted genocide against the mutants.

Marvel's X of Swords event has seen the mutants of Krakoa face their greatest challenge to date. Apocalypse had intended to correct an ancient wrong, restoring Krakoa's twin island of Arakko to Earth and reuniting with his wife Genesis and his children, his beloved First Horsemen. Unfortunately it has all gone terribly wrong, because the forces of Arakko are intent on conquering Krakoa. Apocalypse agreed to a tournament, fought in Otherworld, for the fate of Krakoa and Arakko. The stakes are high, because a death in Otherworld will be for real, overwriting the X-Men's Resurrection Protocols.

But in this week's X-Men #15, Cyclops and Jean Grey decide it's time to bring these games to an end - by reforming the X-Men. The Krakoan Quiet Council had decided to officially disband the X-Men, considering this name to have too much history. But, in a stirring speech, Cyclops tells the Quiet Council he rejects their decision. "I know the difference between right and wrong," Cyclops insists, "and I know that necessary evil has nothing to do with it... You formed the Quiet Council to be the government of Krakoa. Well... the X-Men are its heroes." And with that, Cyclops and his wife lead a team of volunteers into Otherworld to deal with the threat and rescue their friends and family.

The X-Men are back. And they're proving it by rejecting the best interests of Krakoa, which would dictate closing the Krakoan gateways and avoiding sending anyone to Otherworld, where their lives would be put at risk. But the X-Men don't leave anyone behind, and they find another way into Otherworld, using Magik's teleportation portals. What is truly impressive is the size of the army Cyclops and Jean Grey muster, proving just how many mutants are willing to stand up and serve as heroes. Some of them have been X-Men since the beginning, with all five of the original X-Men joining the charge, while others are more surprising additions - the likes of Gwenpool, Wolverine's son Daken, and even former members of the Mutant Liberation Front. The scene is a tremendous one, rendered beautifully by Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia, and longer-term readers will find it reminiscent of a similar moment in the classic '90s X-Men event X-Cutioner's Song. There, the X-Men assembled to rescue Cyclops and Jean Grey; now, they are led by them.

Cyclops has introduced a whole new dynamic into Krakoan civilization, one that operates independently from the Quiet Council. The rulers of Krakoa disbanded the X-Men because they believed the mutant society was fragile, and that the X-Men would be seen as a rival power-base. They are right. Cyclops and Jean Grey have just created an inevitable fracture in Krakoan civilization, and it's going to be thrilling to see what it leads to.

X-Men #15 by Jonathan Hickman, Mahmud Asrar, and Sunny Gho, and X of Swords: Destruction by Jonathan Hickman, Tini Howard, Pepe Larraz, and Marte Gracia are available now.

After the Dawn Comes the Reign
Reign of X begins this December!
BY MARVEL
Today, fans witnessed the startling conclusion of X OF SWORDS, the sprawling crossover that represented the latest chapter in Jonathan Hickman’s grand vision for the X-Men, and learned that the REIGN OF X was upon us!

Hickman’s bold take on mutantkind began last year in the critically-acclaimed HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X and continued in the DAWN OF X, ushering in a slate of brand-new X-Men titles that took the comic book industry by storm. Now, the saga continues in REIGN OF X, a new era encompassing the upcoming story arcs in all your favorite X-titles. The REIGN OF X will see the forming of new teams, the return of major characters, new threats brought about by classic villains, and more game-changing revelations that will alter the X-Men mythos forever! Check out what’s to come in a mesmerizing teaser image by superstar X-Men artist Mahmud Asrar!

“The REIGN OF X is upon us … and here's a sneak peek of what it will bring! Like DAWN OF X and X OF SWORDS before it, REIGN OF X has been meticulously crafted by Jonathan Hickman and all the other uncanny X-writers of our day, and we can’t wait for you to see what they’ve cooked up!” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski explains. “In the meantime, eagle-eyed readers should take a CLOSE look at this magnificent montage of mutants drawn by Mahmud Asrar. Everything on this image was included for a reason and will have heart-pounding pay-offs in the near future for our favorite Krakoans. After the dawn comes the reign, and what a reign it will be!”

It all begins in December as the X-Men deal with the fallout of X OF SWORDS and look to the future. Here’s what’s to come next month:

HELLIONS #7 by writer Zeb Wells and artist Stephen Segovia will explore the aftermath of the team’s brutal massacre in X OF SWORDS.

Writer Leah Williams and artist David Baldeon continue to investigate mutant deaths and explore the complexities that come with resurrection in X-FACTOR #5.

Kate Pryde and Emma Frost finally enact their long-awaited revenge on Sebastian Shaw in MARAUDERS #16 by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Stefano Caselli.

Mutantkind sets their sights on the galaxy and beyond in writer Al Ewing and artist Valerie Schiti’s groundbreaking S.W.O.R.D. #1.

An old foe rises in NEW MUTANTS #14, the beginning of a wild new era for your favorite young mutants by writer Vita Ayala and artist Rod Reis.

Wolverine reunites with Maverick and Team X in WOLVERINE #8, a special over-sized milestone issue written by Benjamin Percy with art by Adam Kubert and Viktor Bogdanovic.

The search for Captain Britain is underway as Excalibur returns to Otherworld in EXCALIBUR #16 by writer Tini Howard and artist Marcus To.

X-Force will stop at nothing to protect Krakoa, even if it means interrogating their own, in the action-packed X-FORCE #15 by writer Benjamin Percy and Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Joshua Cassara.

And Cyclops makes a fateful decision regarding the future of the X-Men in X-MEN #16, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Phil Noto.

The future of mutantkind is here! Don’t miss X-Men history in the making when REIGN OF X begins next week!

No problem.

I wonder if the MCU has anything to do with it?

Same, but I don't know about the poly stuff being over. Now it does seem like that maybe Scott/Jean are done drinking the Krakoa Kool-Aid, and with them bringing back the X-Men hopefully that means they'll start to separate themselves from Krakoa.

I know I would love to see a new X-Men team lead by Scott/Jean.

Yep, that she does.

Oh, TFTNT.

You're welcome, dragonfire.

Oh, is Loki being replaced in the comics by an X-Men villain? I thought it was in the MCU.

Well, Loki is popular in the MCU. What happened to his Disney+ show?

The polyamory MUST stop, dragonfire. Scott and Jean's relationship can't continue like that, and it was a dumb idea anyway. There is a reason why the majority of polyamory is FFM, and why it's far more common and popular than MMF, dragonfire. I am glad that they've gotten away from the fanatics and are back to being X-Men again. Any reason given why she went back to her Marvel Girl outfit? It definitely does have a 60's vibe to it.

Thanks again.

Well, unless I read it wrong it sounds like that maybe Loki is taking on a different role in the comics or something.

I think the virus put the show on hold for now.

Don't forget Emma is part of it. Same.

I have seen some speculation that it could be that they want to create distance between her and the Phoenix, and with the rumors of MCU Jean being called Marvel Girl maybe that as well, to help make MCU Jean feel different from Fox's.

Gwenpool, dragonfire? WTF??? Will everyone stop fetishizing Gwen Stacy? The woman as been dead since The Partridge Family was still on the air!

Well I'm glad even the X-Men are rebelling against Marvel's reboot, dragonfire.

Yeah, and Emma is even more of a reason to stop this damn polyamory crap. Scott and Jean can invite Rogue into their menage if they want.

Well, as much as I like seeing Jean resemble herself again, I still don't like the MCU having an undue influence on the comics, dragonfire. Look what they did to Hank Pym because of that.

One could only hope that Covid would ruin all of the Disney+ shows.

Yep. I guess not. True. Seems she's like Deadpool meets Scarlet Witch so to speak.

If anything I guess you could say they're rebelling against the Professor.

Ok. I could be wrong but I don't think Rogue likes doing stuff like that.

Ok. I know.

We don't need any version of Gwen, dragonfire. She's better off dead.

Oh, so now Rogue is a prude? Well, then I guess it'll have to be Emma, unless it's Psylocke.

Thanks for all the links. But the only Adam I'm interested in is named Warlock.

I wouldn't say that. I think both Psylocke and her Brother are still dead so yep it'll have to be Emma.

Ironically since Krakoa is a living breathing Mutant island Krakoa can dump them at anytime Krakoa wants.

At least the Summers/Grey family had sense not to have their home on Krakoa but instead the moon.
