There's good reason to be annoyed about Carol Danvers. One doesn't have to hate female superheroes to be fed up of Carol Danvers. For starters, she shouldn't be called Captain Marvel, she should be Ms Marvel. That was her original codename. Whereas, after the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell, the alien) died, the codename "Captain Marvel" went to Monica Rambeau, a black female superhero who was one of Marvel's best '80s characters. But now, when Marvel claims to be big on diversity, they seem to have forgotten all about Monica.

Of course Alex thinks the name Captain Marvel should stick with superheroes who follow Mar-Vell's tradition, like Carol, but the name predated Mar-Vell, so I disagree. Plus Monica was a better character than Mar-Vell and Carol put together.

Carol has never been a great character, but Marvel has lately decided to make her their female superhero of choice and stuck her on a pedestal and built her up big. They'd be better with Monica or focusing on the She-Hulk, both better characters.

For most of '80s and '90s, Carol was important mostly as the character Rogue stole her powers from. Rogue is another superior female character and probably Marvel's most popular female character, but she's had crappy treament lately because Marvel doesn't favour its mutant characters these days on account of being jealous of Fox's X-Men copyright. Which is why they killed Wolverine in the comics, btw.

And in the MCU movies, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow is one of the best characters, yet they won't give her a solo movie and they dole out their token female superhero movie to Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, an actress I've never been enthusiastic about.

^^Yes I know about Marvel. Black Widow gets negativity too, that she's not vital for her own movie. She deserves her own movie.

Let's not start baiting and attacking posters, because it will get reported.

That's okay. That statement wasn't meant for you.

The time will be 10 years later. Professor X, will be bald. I wonder if they grey Magneto's hair this time. Mystique keeps her red hair.

In the comics, Magneto's hair was grey/white from the start, like Quicksilver's. And in mid-'80s he looked like he was in his 40s because his physical age had been mucked around with by various forces. Mid '80s Magneto is my favorite Magneto. That's when he reforms and is given control of Xavier's school when Xavier leaves. Another favorite of mine is Age of Apocalypse Magneto, from an alternate reality in which Xavier was killed way back and Magneto founded the X-Men in his memory and Apocalypse took over half the world. The Age of Apocalypse storyline was the main thing Marvel did right in the mid-'90s. Everything else was starting to go wrong in that era.

Xavier's son Legion (David) went back in time to kill Magneto and ended up killng Xavier instead, so reality as we knew it was cancelled out and replaced by a world in which Apocalypse was the major power and Magneto ran the X-men. Then they found a way to switch it back to the normal reality. Rogue and Magneto were married with a kid in the Age of Apocalypse.

He would. He has a certain magnetism about him.
I hope he does. I know Mystique sticks with her red hair, regardless.

I will be back with a Magneto and Mystique playlist.
