Looks surprisingly convincing, even if he's nearly a foot too short. Brolin is good at playing hard men. If I were casting the film back in the '90s I'd have wanted Nick Nolte for the role, even if he was too short too. I doubt he'd have taken the role though. Comic book movies are not his taste. But if you see him in something like Mulholland Falls you can see Cable in him.

Cable's height is pretty distinctive, at 6'8", thus important, even though it's not as significant as Wolverine's 5'3" height (which sets up Wolverine's whole personality dynamic).

Finding one over 6' shouldn't be so hard. Even 6'4" would do. And actually, there are endless actors of all heights in Hollywood.

I just heard about that. It's so sad and such a tragedy. I remember when Brandon Lee was killed on the set of The Crow, and I was so devastated. They really need to make sure everyone is safe on these film sets.__________________
