No, I'm not, sum1. I've already stated that Dark Phoenix didn't deserve the criticism it got. But I do think that Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse could've both been much better, and Kingberg and Singer's ignorance of the comics contributed to that not happening. They had a real chance to fix things after what happened with The Last Stand, and with First Class, Days of Future Past, Deadpool, and Logan, things looked good. But then they tripped up.

Their ignorance is pretty culpable. People should be required to have read a lot of the relevant comics to make a comic book movie. The only reason they aren't is because of contempt for the medium. Singer and Kinberg not knowing that Psylocke's brother was Captain Britain is a classic example of idiocy. They probably don't even know the character didn't start as Asian. Remember, Singer once banned comics on the set of an X-Men movie.

Well, I already have contempt for Singer for reasons you're well aware of, sum1. His treatment of Scott and Jean was unforgivable. And now we know him to be a total scumbag, so good riddance. It's just a shame that Kinberg had to follow suit. And I don't trust Kevin Feige so I'm not optimistic.

I know, Dave, but Dark Phoenix could've been more successful if it had been made better. Look how successful Days of Future Past and Logan were. Kinberg could've done better with Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, but he fell short because like a lot of Hollywood types, he just doesn't care.

Who cares? Blu-ray is dying and DVD will be all that's left. DVD and vinyl are making their comeback.

‘Dark Phoenix’ Will Come To DVD And Blu-Ray With A New And Improved Title
Quote:
The film, which to be fair is better than at least X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, will debut on priced-to-buy digital HD on September 3 and DVD, Blu-ray and priced-to-rent VOD on September 17. And, amusingly enough, while the some of the promotions list the film as Dark Phoenix, some (including the box art) list it as X-Men: Dark Phoenix. So, the movie is getting the title it should have used in the first place.

Thanks, dragonfire.

It's soon gonna be time to unstick this thread, I guess.

Well, the movie already came out and it's gonna be out on video soon, so there's no more reason to keep this one topped.
