Don't get me started on how the Hellboy 3 has taken Hellboy's Irish (redheaded, btw) girlfriend and taken the Irish part out of her story and cast an American actress in the role. They probably think they can get away with it because the actress is black, so they can claim they're promoting diversity, but they're writing out of the story a small nation that gets treated with contempt by Hollywood. Basically it's no more acceptable than when they cast an English actor as a Japanese character. They was uproar over that, so why not for this?

I agree, sum1. I'm not gonna argue with you. Every time Hollywood does that it's total bull

but they don't care. They hide behind "promoting diversity" but really they're just trying to make browning points for later on.

I never forget the time Marvel Disney turned the Ancient One (old Tibetan man) into Tilda Swinton (white woman) in the Doctor Strange movie. They claimed they were avoiding Asian stereotyping and they figured turning him into a woman would count as diversity. Really they were just whitewashing the character and also being cowardly avoiding pissing off their Chinese market by dropping the Tibetan element. China oppresses Tibet like hell for generations and the world just lets it go on.

Oh god, what they did to the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 was awful. If they felt the character was racist they shouldn't have usd him, not altered him to make a mockery of him.

Cyclops is 5'7.5" and Wolverine is 6'2.5"?

I think they did the same thing to Iron Fist.

Yeah, I agree, sum1. I don't know why Bryan Singer insists on hiring these short guys to play Cyclops. He makes Cyclops look like a character from a damn teen drama.

People accused the character of being cultural appropriation, as if white people haven't been mastering martial arts for generations. And they said the character should have been cast with an Asian actor, which is racist, considering the character's always been white.
