You can wait for the reviews. I'm avoiding it.

I'm a bit tired of Spielberg. Schindler's List was great, but I find most of his films too staid and too sentimental and lacking edge.

I guess I understand. Spielberg was part of my childhood growing up, and I'll always love the big three of Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. But I do agree that as time went on his filmmaking got a bit tired. I couldn't stand A.I. or Minority Report.

Oh, and Ready Player One will be the first time since The Color Purple that Spielberg hasn't used John Williams' to compose the musical score. He's using Back To The Future composer Alan Silvestri instead.

Close Encounters bores the crap out of me. Raiders was ok, but the next two Indy films were better and I can't take the Indy stuff seriously anyway. Jaws I don't have strong views on. AI was weird. I don't have much of an opinioin on Minority Report.

No relation to Marc Silvestri, I take it.

No, no relation. Marc Silvestri is one of the Marvel defectors that co-founded Image Comics.

Alan Silvestri did the music for Back To The Future, Predator, Romancing The Stone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and The Avengers, to name a few.

Yes, I know. Most if not all of the Image founders came from Spider-Man and X-Men titles. I read up on them when Image first came out. I of course knew who McFarlane and Larsen were because they both worked on Spider-Man. I saw Jim Lee's work on X-Men, but I wasn't sure about the other guys like Liefeld, Silvestri, Valentino, and Portacio. But I eventually read up on them.

I know, it's an X-title.

He also did Wetworks for Image, but the comic was constantly delayed due to the death of his sister, sadly.
