Sam Mendez, some other directors. Because Parasite won almost everything away from them

2017 probably should have won. Or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I won't be seeing Parasite. No interest. I will be seeing 2017. And I have seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood -it has some of the best climactic scenes of any film I've seen. That guy getting his balls chewed off by the dog while Brad Pitt watches stoned and out of it. So funny. I'm thrilled Pitt got his Oscar finally. He should have gotten one for Fight Club back in 2000, but they gave it to that little paedophile Spacey instead. For playing a paedophile.
And can I say how angry I am that the best actress Oscar went to Zellweger? She's an inferior actress and always annoying. It should have gone to Saoirse Ronan. The Academy has a big bias against Ireland. We're not American, so we're not mainstream, we're not British so we don't have prestige and we don't speak a foreign language, so we're fed. __________________

Saoirse Ronan is a great actress, but she was nominated for Little Women, which wasn't giving her as much scope for acting as some of the other movies.

Well, the Oscars posted their lowest ratings in history. Not surprising, since Hollywood is "woking" itself into irrelevance. For the tenth straight year, the Academy gave the Oscar to a movie no one watched and no one cared about. This year made history because Parasite was the first foreign language film to win Best Picture. But the Academy hasn't given Best Picture to a movie people actually cared about since The Hurt Locker in 2009. Here's the list of Best Picture winners since The Hurt Locker: The King's Speech The Artist Argo 12 Years A Slave Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) Spotlight Moonlight The Shape of Water Green Book Parasite Now here are the Best Picture winners from the time I was born in 1970 to 2009 Patton The French Connection The Godfather The Sting The Godfather Part II One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Rocky Annie Hall The Deer Hunter Kramer vs. Kramer Ordinary People Chariots of Fire Gandhi Terms of Endearment Amadeus Out of Africa Platoon The Last Emperor Rain Man Driving Miss Daisy Dances With Wolves The Silence of The Lambs Unforgiven Schindler's List Forrest Gump Braveheart The English Patient Titanic Shakespeare In Love American Beauty Gladiator A Beautiful Mind Chicago The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King Million Dollar Baby Crash The Departed No Country For Old Men Slumdog Millionaire The Hurt Locker Notice the progression? Or shall I say, the regression? I agree, 1917 was the frontrunner, and Sam Mendes has to be pissed right about now. So does Quentin Tarantino. He lost in both Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Original Screenplay, and his next film will probably be his last before he retires. Oh, and Joaquin Phoenix's acceptance speech for Best Actor for Joker was embarrassing. At one point he started talking about cows and milk. I agree, sum1. Saoirse Ronan probably should've gotten Best Actress. Congrats to Brad Pitt winning Best Supporting Actor. Oh, the Academy has a lot of biases, but there's nothing to be done about it. __________________
