Making Achilles black is seriously anti-black racist stereotyping. Think of what Achilles is like in the Iliad. Hot-tempered, aggressive, egotistical, childish, self-centered, a manchild, but with a big sexual appetite, physically gifted, but without a lot of brain. That reads like a white racist's negative stereotype of a black man. It was SERIOUSLY racist for them to cast a black man as Achilles, I don't think they realize what they've revealed about their own prejudiced assumptions with that casting.
