It went wrong long before Connor. The style and quality went out the window starting with the first episode of the second season. Everything got careless and cheap and half-hearted and lazy. Stupid storylines, poor visual style, lack of atmosphere, dumb unconvincing portrayal of magic and the supernatural, Angel himself increasingly being acted as if Boreanaz was bored of the role, racist portrayal of Gunn (the only black regular in the Buffyverse). A real turning point was passed at the end of season 2 with the Pylea saga about the demon Lorne's otherdimensional homeland. From then on the quality was totally gone and any credibility the show had was gone totally. It was downhill from there.

I think David was bored of the role, especially by season 4 definitely. It showed immensely and they just let him away with it

He came off bored. That's what made me hate Angel (the character) so much.

Oh. All right. I remember in the old Angel forum their were not many shippers of Connor & Cordelia, though I didn't mind em together. Overall Angel was 1 of my favorite shows in the history of the WB, though I don't have many. ''Everwood'' & ''Smallville'' are 2 others.

If the actor is not bothering to act I can certainly hold it against the character he's playing. And it made Angel come off all the more like a smug bullyboy. It's not for no reason that I was one of the primary posters on the old Buffy board anti-Angel thread.

Yeah, I'm not gonna get into that discussion. I pretty much hated all of that stuff. They really ruined Angel halfway through.

Watched the Invasion! DC crossover on dvd. Oliver Queen is pretty lame, as are most of the Legends guys. Dominic Purcell is good, though, as is Brandon Routh. And Grant Gustin is still likeable. I don't see the appeal of the Arrow show, though. A bunch of boring people with no powers dressed up in silly costumes. So far so Batman.

The Arrow episode was the hardest to get through. Those characters are just boring.
