Ah, the first black superhero film. That I know of. It's actually not very good, unfortunately. John Legiuzamo's character was rather hard to take.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I agree about John Leguizamo's character (The Violator). He was unbearably annoying. The best thing to come out of the movie was the song "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do", by The Crystal Method and Filter, which was also the second song featured during the end credits.
