I watched ''Supergirl'' earlier. Looks like Alex & Maggie aren't going to work out. Figures.

Arrow

Thanks for the new thread, LightYears! :)

Alex is Kara's adopted sister, right? I don't really watch Supergirl.

Well think of how long those Americans took to get over to America from Britain in the first place, Mayflower and all that. ;)

Very funny, sum1. :P  And a lot of those pilgrims were Irish, considering that there are more Irish in America than in Ireland. :P

Not the whole month, Rita. Just the week of Thanksgiving when a lot of people end up traveling to visit relatives by plane, train, bus, car, etc. And then there's the whole Black Friday madness when people begin Christmas shopping. Think about it... FF management has given boards a break with the weekly and monthly post counts whenever FF goes down with technical problems for a day or two. If FF has a problem that prevents people from getting on the site, they post a statement that no one will be put on the low post count list for that month. November and December is usually when posting goes down because of the holidays.

Irish immigration into America didn't get big until the 19th century.

Yes, I know, after the potato famine. :P That's where the big migration began, but there were some Irish who came here before that, as early as the 17th century. During the American revolution, a British major general testified before the House of Commons that "half the rebel Continental Army were from Ireland."

British major generals tended to be a bit paranoid about the Irish.
