I don't think Loki was shapeshifting, just using an illusion. And Odin isn't a human, he's an Asgardian god. I found The Dark World a bit disappointing.

No problem. ''Thor: The Dark'' was released in 2013''. I just hadn't made time to see it, but wanted to before ''Ragnorak'', since I am planning on seeing that 1 in theaters.
