Yeah, I don't do well when temperatures rise above that either. It was lovely. Because we were on the Atlantic coast (as opposed to the Caribbean coast) we had some cool breezes... but then I always loved a cardigan. And, again, in the middle of February? Walking around with an "in case of a breeze" cardigan is awesome.

You see, hear and smell the waves crashing. No mosquitoes to speak of. The air is perfectly comfortable... And the humidity actually gave my hair some measure of volume. What's not to love?

Well, that's the thing, isn't it? In February, it's lovely, In August? When it's this insane here? And hurricanes have started?
I would reserve that teleportation to later in the year... __________________

i know. i remembered a colleague going there in September a few years ago because it's cheap (that's typical of that colleague). i thought she was crazy going straight after a hurricane...

And? Was it a disastrous vacation for her?
I honestly understand 100% going for the cheap vacation. I just don't understand going during hurricane season. __________________

she was lucky, her vacation was ok afterall even if it was straight after a hurricane. it could've been worse, cancel flights or being stranded.

That's a relief, but that's such a stupid risk to take.
Of course, who am I to ridicule? I still dream of going on a cruise. __________________

yeah especially with mother nature.
hmm cruises, i've never experienced it. My mom absolutely loves it. She went to the Caribbean in February (yep just weeks before the lockdown) on a cruise. She likes the all-included packages and the idea that she doesn't have to pack her bags going from one country to another. i get why she likes it but i'm not sure i'd like it being on a boat. __________________

I've never experienced a cruise either. I know I hate canoeing or smaller boats like that because I have a paralyzing fear of water and of drowning. Which is part of why I want to go on a cruise. I want to confront that fear and also, possibly, realize that the fear doesn't apply to ginormous ships.
And I've only ever been to the one all-inclusive resort, but it was the most relaxing experience I have ever had. It's the one time in my adult life where I didn't have to do anything. Everything was done for me. So I figure a cruise would be similar. __________________

yeah from what my mom experienced, cruises can give you that sit back and relax experience. that's what she likes.
what i don't like is that you have to be 2 per room. i enjoy travelling alone. my mom has been insisting that i join her on a cruise. __________________

I think there are cruise lines that offer single rooms, but, if memory serves, they looked as cramped as you can imagine. So, for me, it would be a debate between how much I want to go on a cruise (since no one else around here seems to share that desire) and whether I really want to add "testing my claustrophobia" to "confronting my hydrophobia".
But the mix of an all-inclusive resort (which, of course, cruises aren't completely since they will charge you extra for some things) and having the opportunity to visit different places at each stop is very intriguing for me. __________________
