I saw the movie.

But I was kinda shocked when I found out that Angela Lansbury was in the play.

To me, it just doesn't sound like a show she would do.

I absolutely adore musicals. My goal in life is to get to New York and watch a TON of shows. Hopefully I can get there by May this year and watch Rent before it closes and Spring Awakening before Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele leave the show.

Speaking of Spring Awakening, I am obsessed with it (points to avatar and sig). It's amazing.

I saw Wicked in LA at the Pantages last year and thought it was the best show I've ever seen! I also saw Spelling Bee on Broadway back in October. It was a really cute show. I LOVE musicals, too, and I've performed in a few thru community theatre. I'd LOVE to see Spring Awakening on Broadway, but I don't think that's gonna happen!

I absolutely adore Musicals.

My favorites are RENT (I'm so sad it's closing), Aida, Wicked, Avenue Q, Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story. I really need to start listening to more though.

Ooh yay! I've been hoping that I would stumble across a musicals thread somewhere on here

I'm from London, thus see most of my shows in the West End. Though I've seen quite a few Broadway musicals via, *cough*DVD*cough*.

I'm a big fan of:

Wicked (I've seen it 42 times in London :s)
Hairspray
RENT
Spring Awakening
Legally Blonde
Bright Lights, Big City
Little Shop of Horrors

and MANY more

She was excellent. I think everyone just thinks of Murder She Wrote when they think of her, but she was a much more diverse performer. You should really try to get a copy of the video of the Original Broadway Cast. I refused to see the movie because there's no way it could compare to the original and I didn't want it to ruin Sweeney for me.

Hi! My name is Amber and I'm new here! Recently I visited London on a school trip and got to see both Les Miserables and Wicked. I really liked them both...however, I'm in LOVE with Wicked now! I think Kerry Ellis, who is currently playing Elphaba, is absolutely amazing!! (and I got a picture with her which makes things even more awesome!) I've become such a huge fan of hers! I want to go back to London SO bad just to see Wicked again!

I absolutely LOVE musicals I'm a huge theatre geek.
sadly I don't live in NYC, so I only get to see the shows on tour

My Favorite Musical is Wicked: seen it 3 times, once in Orange County and Twice at the Pantages. absolutely LOVE it. and I love Eden and Megan.

then the rest of my faves:

Les Miserables. I completely adore that show, so much. I am totally team Eponine though, I can't stand Cosette it's just such a beautiful show. I cried when I saw it. it was just so moving. and the 10th anniversary dream cast recording is the best.

POTO. I Love Phantom. it's a wonderful show. I hate Raoul. dumb fop. I'm stoked I might go see it again soon.

and I LOVE many many others

but what I really really want to see is Spring Awakening, I must get myself to New York to see it. especially before all the OBC is gone, and before Lea and Jon Groff leave in May.

I could go on an on about musicals but I will stop.

I've seen Phantom of the Opera and City of Angels. Both were amazing!

My school does a musical every year. We've done My Fair Lady, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Oliver, and Brigadoon.

I would love to see RENT, but unfortunately that'll never happen. In June I get to see Wicked in Chicago!

I not only do I want to see Hairspray, but I want to BE in it...As Maybelle of course.
