Me too! It's based on my favourite of the games and the signs are positive that they'll do it justice. :)

I liked the first one. The second one? Not so much, although the image of Gerard Butler doing pull-ups from the cell ceiling will stay with me. :)

I certainly hope she's a different character in this one. Why else would they bother recasting her?

Okay, I can see that they're trying to reboot the franchise, hence why recasting would be interesting. But, basically, new actor always means new version of the character.

If we go by the 2013 game it is when Lara becomes the Lara Croft. That is when she learn to fight for survival and her first real big adventure. She is really green with fighting back at the start of the game. And I love seeing her grow in the game as a person/survivor.

So that is also a reason why they needed to re cast her as they needed someone "fresh" and younger looking. :nod: And I think Alicia Vikander is the perfect young Lara. :)

:shrug: I don't play video games (I have no negative opinion of them, I just don't play them), so if they're going by game releases, I do hope they spare the rest of us a thought and explain things.

Like, I get why I didn't understand Dad's Army, the movie, but a Lara Croft movie should not be a mystery to me.

I didn't say anything about that you have to know anything about the game, all I was replying to was about that you were hoping she would be a different character in this movie then the other two with Jolie. Which she is in the game I was talking about. That is all. :shrug:

but it can be hard to explain why it's different to people that haven't played the latest ones. :lol: to me, it's a nice mix of the latest two games and a classic nod at the end. :)

I wasn't implying anyone had insider knowledge here. I was just expressing my hope that they don't stick close to game history. Kinda like how comic-book movies do better when they don't stick too close to comic-book history.
