My western civ prof was also my Byzantine prof. He always gave us useless information, it stuck too! He was also very funny. He tried to tie his love of Saskatchewan Roughriders in to every lesson. HAHAAHHA.

It's so easy for me to love the Civil War and even early colony times since I live in Virginia. I live about 40 minutes away from Jamestown and Williamsburg. My grandparents actually live right across the river from there. And my hometown has a lot of Civil War history. There's two manors there, and one of them Robert E. Lee stayed there himself. Part of the land my elementary school is on is an old Civil War fort. When I was in the third grade I actually found a bullet from the Civil War.

I would drown him out when he talked about CFL, I don't like CFL. I'm an NFLer for life. __________________

That's cool that you live on land like that. Hope you find the bullet.
It's funny because I've lived in the south and I still don't know much about my own history because I've always been focused on history elsewhere. I'm hoping to change that soon though. It's always nice to know the history from the land you live on. __________________

I'm looking at different colleges in Virginia to see if one have an actual degree in Ancient Civilizations. There's this one college in Williamsburg- William and Mary (not sure if anyone has heard of it-it's the second oldest University in USA) which I don't think my gpa from community college is high enough to get in, but starting fall 2011 they are offering a joint degree in History with St. Andrews-the oldest University in Scotland where you would do your last two years there.
This is from the website: Quote:

Which William and Mary is a great school. It's the school I've always wanted to go to when I was younger. And one of my friend's graduated from there and she said I should go for it. I just have to get my gpa up first But even without the joint degree program they also offer plenty of schools to do a semester abroad at and St. Andrews is one.
