Omg, this is BEYOND creepy!!!!! Creepy new app lets you stalk potential 'no' voters in their own homes! __________________

There's a political side that always leans towards alarmism and it's always scary when normal people buy into it.

Well, it is very disturbing that the NO campaign created an app to show you who has not voted yet and coax people to confront them in their own homes and try to persuade them to vote NO - but if they have already voted YES or intend to vote YES that house is shown in the app as a YES house - possibly endangering them as a target! Very stupid and creepy this is...
Another issue has cropped up - over 64% of eligible voters have posted off their YES/NO sheets and it is expected to be a YES victory - - BUT, there is the issue that if it is only say for example 64% of voters voted but 51% of those voted YES, that is not over 50% of eligible voters so they could use that as a lame excuse to not make YES law! ..... To use a recent example, 71% of voters voted in the Brexit, barely 51% of those voted YES to leave with the same BS lies in the YES campaign. This was not over 50% of the eligible voters who voted to leave as not everyone able to vote DID actually VOTE! Their government will (unfortunately) has chosen to follow through with Brexit... Now many things that were protected such as names of products that were E.U safe are now free for all to use (Cornish Pies as one small example) Now, if France leaves the E.U their 'Champagne' could also be used by ANYone worldwide legally. Same goes for Parmesan if Italy left te E.U...and so on. We will have to wait and see though I guess. __________________

No choice but to wait and see what happens.
I don't know if this will cheer you up, but look at what's happening in Spain. The federal government's refusal to allow and recognize the Catalan referendum has drawn international attention and outrage. These things don't go unnoticed, is what I'm saying. __________________

I do know that there are much more important issues in the world, nobody could deny that... This Yes/No thing does not affect me at all personally as I am not attracted to people of my birth gender, it is just that it to those it does affect it is a stupid thing that it needs to have this circus to go through for them to have this simple human right...

is a pain sometimes but yay for it behaving for a change
I just want it to be over with, its being dragged on way too long . There's far more important things in the world to worry about than if two people who love each other want to get married & I just wish that the government saw that & just legalised it instead of mucking around & dragging the country through crap __________________

I certainly was NOT implying that there are more important issues than civil rights for same-sex couples. I would never dream of doing that.
I was just trying to illustrate that people won't stand for the violation of democratic rights over the long run. I wish for you both that it would be over. And I think the results will be important. But even if your elected officials are on the wrong side of history this time, the world won't stand for it for too long. __________________

But there are far more important issues. This shouldn't be an issue, it should just happen
I don't think we need to worry about what they do with the results as the Australian public won't stand for it if they ignore a yes win & the other party here has said they'll legalise it so in theory we just need to hope to change which party is in power next election. That's without taking in if the rest of the world will call the government out for doind the wrong thing __________________

That's a good point. That's a very good point. Civil and human rights shouldn't be up for debate.
At the same time, I do believe that they need to be treated as a priority in any society that claims to be democratic. After all, if we're not all equal before the law (in principle, at least), what's the point of the rest? It's a weird position to find myself in, I'll admit. I'm usually the first person to argue that modern governments should be more than able to handle more than one issue at a time. And I still maintain that. But, all the same, equality for all must be enshrined. __________________
