Shopping day tomorrow. So anxious over nothing. Need to relax.

Getting organized helps me relaxed when it comes to shopping. That's why I always have a running grocery list (with things I need, and things that are on special at the various grocery stores I frequent).

And, in a little over a week, I'm going to Connecticut for my annual clothes shop. There again, I have done my research and know what I want/need and which stores I'll be getting it at.

^^ I do the same. I have a pad/pen I keep in my purse for my shopping lists, and I go through the flyers, and specials etc.

Then I buy what's on the list and that's it, unless there is a really good deal, like unexpected $9 baking dishes!

Plus it's Canada Day this weekend, so I'm having my bestie over for nachos for dinner and beer!

Well, I have a budget whenever I go into any given store. So I have my list and, sometimes, I leave myself a little room for unexpected finds. Like a $9 square baking dish.

^^ I'm the same, I pinch pennies because I do get so little, can be really frustrating too because I'll do my monthly grocery shop and then be at the store with no more $ just helping my mom out with her shop and the stuff I just bought was on sale!

I get a decent salary, all things considered, but I am also single and renting (because I can't afford to buy). So, even when I watch my budget very closely, I come up short every so often.

^^ I'm the same, single and renting and when it comes to things like Birthdays especially Christmas, I feel I come up short.

We do the best we can. I know people who don't buy presents anymore because they feel it's taken away from the true meaning of celebrations (which is surrounding yourself with family and loved ones, not, you know, religion or whatever).

It is about family, I agree and a lot of that is lost in the consumerism of the holidays rather than why we celebrate to begin with.

But I really enjoy seeing the look on someones face at the though/care I've put into a gift you know?

My mother's hosting this weekend. I'm not going. It's not a mean thing or anything. I just needed to relax. I saw my mother last weekend. We're going to the States together next weekend. And we're babysitting my nephew overnight together the weekend after that.

So I just needed one weekend where I can just, you know, take it easy.
